Description

Actually, this is not Glory at all, it's Baby Glory. But how would you like to be called 'Baby' your whole life?

Here is a story that you will probably find sort of dull and much too long.

So. PONIES. I initially saw FiM way back when the first episode came out and I thought it was terribly keen. Sometime during the first or second episode, it also occurred to me that Rarity looks a great deal like the G1 pony Glory, and therefore also like Baby Glory. Now, here is where I must mention that I have a huge giant rubbermaid bin full of my childhood ponies, for I have several. My favourite one of all, though, was always my Baby Glory.

Naturally, I decided that this was the perfect time to fetch my ponies and say hello and get them out all over the place, as you do. And this was all fine, except about the time the bin started getting awfully empty, I realized that Baby Glory was nowhere to be found.

I didn’t think much of it at first, since t's not uncommon for me to blatently exhibit my favouritism. My second-favourite pony was G1 Applejack, and I knew that she was living happily on my dresser, so probably Baby Glory was hiding in my room somewhere. I went to look for her.

That was October, maybe November. And I looked for her.

I looked for her in December.
I looked for her in January.
I looked for her in February.
By the time March rolled around, I was starting to get suspicious. And by suspicious, I mean that I was pretty convinced that somehow Baby Glory had accidentally been thrown away or just completely lost outside somewhere. I’d torn my room apart, torn the basement apart, torn half my little sister’s room apart, no ponies. It was a difficult time for me, as you can imagine.

Anyway, I can see by the impatient tapping of your foot that your nerves and intense grief are too much to bear, so I’ll omit the details of my expeditions and cut straight to my deciding one day in late March to dig around in the guest bedroom closet. There I found a much tinier Rubbermaid bin that looked as though it might have some of my rubbish inside, so I hauled it down and popped it open and there was Baby Glory, chilling on top of an old Little Mermaid pillowcase next to a jewel-bellybuttoned troll doll.

I showed her to everybody in the house and none of them feel comfortable speaking to me now. It doesn’t matter. I brushed her hair and scrubbed her face and she lives on my desk now, right between Vegeta and Sailor Jupiter, next to a flower sticker that won’t come unstuck without taking off the fake wood finish.

In case you scrolled all the way down here to ask ‘But why isn’t she drawn as a baby’ that is because when I played with her, she was always a sort of teenaged character, and so I’ve depicted her as such. I can do that because I’m very creative and fearless.

I loved your story on trying to find her. Been there done that.
