Once again, I had no idea what category to put this in. Anyway.
This is Alice/Hatter from my obsession-of-the-day, ~Valadilenne's fanfic, "Sunny Disposish" (which you can read on her dA page). The fanfic is inspired by *bri-chan's comic and Lewis Carroll's work proper. Me, myself, personally - I also stole inspiration from *lily-fox's ever-pretty artwork to draw this. My goal was to emulate gorgeous ink drawings such as those by H.J. Ford, and the original 'Alice' illustrations. Obviously, I failed. This is because, to me, any and all hatching techniques are, basically, kryptonite.
Also I'm vaguely annoyed that, once again, my Hatter turned out looking like some sort of pop-singer boy toy. This was not intentional.
But aside from those complaints, I like the basic sketch. I hope it's somewhat true to ~Valadilenne's intention for this bit - her writing is descriptively packed, so I tried to be as accurate as I could. What I liked most though, (tee hee) was putting the little caption at the bottom - I've always loved illustrations with captions! It seems so helpful - especially when the picture falls on a different page than the matching text.

I must say, this is most probably my most favorite SD picture....and very close to being my very favoritest Hatter/Alice piece. The concentration on his face is superb as is the slightly flabbergasted/gobsmacked expression on hers.
